On March 14th, 2025, ICW Central West promoter James Lanham very kindly donated a Holland Throat Scope on behalf of Emma’s Tongue Cancer Charity to Cowra Medical Associates, based in Cowra, NSW.
The throat scope and instructions on use of the throat scope were accepted by Dr Guy Date on behalf of the practice.
Based in Kendal Street, Cowra Medical Associates consists of a team of 10 GPs and GP Registrars, providing comprehensive medical care to the Cowra community for adults and children, and provides Visiting Medical Officer cover for Cowra Health Service outside of regular trading hours. The medical centre also has specialist services that visit Cowra on a regular basis.
ICW Central West promoter James Lanham was Emma’s partner prior to her death and very kindly made the donation on the Charity’s behalf. ICW Central West and Emma’s Tongue Cancer Charity both hope the throat scope is very useful to the practice and aids in the early detection of cancers. The Charity was informed that one device at another practice was used to successfully detect a developing oral cancer, and the patient was referred for specialist treatment in time.
